The Emergency Ban on Flavored E-Cigarettes; What’s Next?
If you are anything like me, you do not actually care what E-Cigarette flavors the government decides to make legal, only to see it make its way in to the hands of the general public. I am sure there are a few people who are really that concerned, and have stood up for his or her rights to choose what flavors they would like to used in their vaporizer. However, if you are an American citizen who is over the age of 18, you have a right to vote.
It might sound crazy but there are several illnesses associated with second hand smoke, including cancer, and everyone should want to quit smoking. There are many toxins found in secondhand tobacco smoke that may cause lung disease, depression, anxiety, weight gain and several other negative unwanted effects. If people start smoking, they have a tendency to inhale so much smoke that they can only have one lung following the first few cigarettes. Vaping flavors like Blueberry Blast, Fruit Colada or Grapefruit Temptations won’t increase the quantity of smoke inhaled, but it will certainly increase the amount of vapor produced by the e Cigarette.
The key reason why the government has decided to place a ban on the sale of these kinds of E-Cigarettes is because they’re addictive, and smokers shouldn’t be made to feel good about themselves for smoking. They just don’t have the willpower to stop, regardless of how hard they try. The flavors you can purchase for your vaporizers are there so you can puff away when you are reading the paper or doing the dishes. The ban on flavors like Blueberry Blast and Fruit Colada was designed to curb the abuse of vaporizers and e Cigarettes around the country.
According to the FDA, the ban on flavored e Cigarettes is here to “give a healthy alternative for consumers who are increasingly concerned about the public health crisis.” There have been reports over time that e Cigarettes tend to be more addictive than traditional cigarettes. Children may also be becoming regular smokers because they do not want to lose out on all the fun of enjoying all of the new vaporizer flavors except for blueberry and cherry. The FDA has taken an obvious stance in dealing with the brand new York City health department’s desire to ban flavored vaporizers.
Most teens do not want to quit their cool cigarettes just to follow the example set by the doctors in NEW YORK. They crave the flavors of their favorite candy and chocolate and would walk out their way to purchase their favorite flavors. The FDA is dealing with the manufacturers of e-Cigarettes, not teens.
